Alok Rajouria - Program Director
Dr. Alok Rajouria joined EAN as Program Director in August 2011. He holds a PhD degree in social welfare from the University of Hawai‘i where he was an East West Center degree fellow. As a Fulbright student, he earned his master's degree in international development education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Prior to joining EAN, Dr. Rajouria worked as post-doctoral research faculty at the University of Hawai‘i, Center on Disability Studies. Dr. Rajouria is an experienced researcher in education, technology, literacy, and social issues. He brings with him more than twelve years of work experience and knowledge in program management and development. Dr. Rajouria has worked with rural and urban communities of South Asia and Hawai‘i. His work as a social scientist with non-profit organizations like Practical Action has taken him to marginalized communities in other countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Dr. Rajouria keeps keen interest in video and other educational technologies, community radio being his most current interest.
